Danny was born January 5, 1964 in Cleveland, Ohio but he grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He learned how to fix cars and started his own repair and restoration business way before he made it to the television screen. The rest of his regular crew were Horny Mike, Kevim, and Scott.

In 2012, History channel launched Counting Cars in a way as a spin-off to Pawn Stars where Koker previously appeared many times as a car expert. He operates Count’s Kustoms in Las Vegas, Nevada and does way more than just a simple restoration. He modifies them and customizes the design into unique pieces.

As Counting Cars took a break in 2018, Koker immediately got himself a new offer. He is now main man on Car Masters: Rust to Riches by Netflix. His company in this show bears a new name Gotham Garage but his craftsmanship attracts a lot of buyers still.
